Direct
Commerce, Inc.
Need: Direct Commerce Inc., a provider of dynamic,
Web-based, collaborative solutions for electronic invoicing,
was readying itself for its second round of fund raising.
Given the change in the economic climate and heightened investor
scrutiny, Direct Commerce recognized the need to update and
enhance their Executive Summary. Direct Commerce executives
wanted an objective, third party perspective on their market
overview and opportunity, business and product positioning,
sales and marketing strategy and competitive landscape, with
the end goal of creating a more compelling document for investors.
Outsourcing this project allowed their executive team to remain
focused on their immediate business objective: sales.
Results: Having fostered several strategic venture
capital relationships, Winzo Group brings to the business
planning process an intimate understanding of what investors,
especially early round investors, are looking for. In re-writing
Direct Commerce’s Executive Summary, Winzo Group:
• Clearly articulated Direct Commerce’s corporate
direction, making it more "real world" and compelling.
• Identified and repositioned the company into a more
appropriate market in which it could operate and compete successfully
• Substantiated strong market need and readiness
• Quantified resulting market opportunity
• Developed stronger competitive differentiation
• Restructured the summary to make it flow more intuitively
• Bundled and renamed Direct Commerce’s applications
into more meaningful product lines, streamlining messaging
and resulting in a more straightforward sales pitch
• Developed a new pricing structure and revenue model
with executives
